About
Aidan is an up-and-coming viola player whose passion and joy for music is evident any time he performs. The collaborative nature of music is what Aidan finds the most fulfilling, meaning he is often involved in chamber music projects. Aidan received his Bachelor of Music from the Sydney Conservatorium in 2021, where he studied under former Sydney Symphony Principal Viola Roger Benedict. Aidan has performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, and has also appeared as a soloist in the world premiere of a double concerto by Australian composer, Richard Mills. The process of engaging with composers to develop new music is one that he finds exciting and as such, Aidan is often involved in the creation of new repertoire for viola. 2022 saw the release of his debut EP, ‘Summit,’ which includes three works for viola and piano in collaboration with long-time friend, Patrick Jaffe. Going forward, he hopes to continue his contribution to the life and colour of the Australian music scene.
